Today charger is not small thing anymore.
People charge phone whole night, office time, car, everywhere.
So if charger quality not right, problem start fast.
For any serious OEM brand, testing is not option.
It is must.
At Tianyin, charger testing is done step by step before packing.
Below are 7 quality tests every charger manufacturer should do, no shortcut.
1. Input & Output Voltage Test
First thing we check is voltage.
Input side must handle 220–240V properly
Output must give correct power, not high not low
If voltage go up and down:
phone heat
battery damage
charger life become less
Good charger always give stable output, not playing game with power.
2. Load Test (Full Load & No Load)
Charger not always used same way.
Sometimes:
phone at 0%, pulling full power
sometimes nothing connected
So we test charger:
with full load
with no load
Cheap charger fail here.
Heating start, voltage drop, sometime dead.
3. Short Circuit Protection Test
Wire touch by mistake or device problem, it happen.
In this case charger must:
cut power automatically
not burn PCB
start normal after fault remove
If no short protection, charger is dangerous item.
This is reason local unbranded charger cause fire issue.
4. Over Current & Over Voltage Test
Modern phone take power as per need.
Charger must understand this.
We test:
what happen if device pull extra current
voltage cross safe limit or not
If charger fail here:
motherboard gone
battery swelling
customer angry, brand loss
5. Temperature Rise Test (Heating Test)
Heating is biggest complaint.
Charger is run:
full load
long time
controlled room condition
We check temperature on:
transformer
IC
plastic body
Good charger become warm only.
Bad charger become hot like iron.
6. Insulation & Hi-Pot Test
This test is about safety.
High voltage is applied between:
AC input side
DC output side
Purpose:
no electric leakage
no shock risk
safe for human hand
Without this test, certification like BIS, CE never pass.
7. Burn-In & Aging Test
Last test, but very important.
Chargers are switched ON:
8 to 24 hours
continuous
under load
This remove:
weak component
bad solder joint
early failure product
After burn-in, only good chargers survive.
Why All These Tests Matter
If manufacturer skip testing:
return rate increase
customer complaint
bad reviews
brand trust gone
OEM buyer should always ask:
“Which quality tests you do?”
If answer not clear, think again.
